Clinton, Iowa Shirley F. (Mrs. George) Gramer, 87, of Clinton, died Tuesday, Nov. 29 at Mercy Living Center-North. Funeral services will be at noon Thursday, Dec. 1, 2016, at the Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the service time on Thursday. A private ceremony and burial will be held at the Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Online condolences may be left at papefh.com. Shirley Fay Steiner was born in DeWitt, Iowa, May 21, 1929, to Fay and Edna (Levsen) Steiner. Shirley was a lifelong resident of Clinton County. She graduated from Lyons Senior High School in 1947 and from Jane Lamb Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1950. On Sept. 24, 1950, Shirley married George Gramer and they raised three sons. Shirley worked as a Registered Nurse and later, for the Visiting Nurse Association in Clinton. Shirley was a long time member of Community Congregational Church. Shirley is survived by her three sons, George Gramer Jr., Denver, Colorado; Gary (Lisa) Gramer, Gallatin Gateway, Montana; Kevin (Rhonda) Gramer, Denver, Colorado; five grandchildren, Corey Gramer, Jason DuFeu, Emily Gramer, Drew Gramer and Brian Gramer; two great-grandchildren, Aiden DuFeu and Paxton DuFeu; and sister-in-law, Juanita Steiner, Clinton. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Fay and Edna Steiner; her husband, George Gramer Sr.; brothers, Rodney Steiner and Darrell Steiner; and her sister, Patricia Dahl. The family would like to sincerely thank the nurses, CNAs, aides, therapists and hospice caregivers at Mercy Living Center-North. Hannah was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, where she was involved in church youth activities. Hannah is survived by her parents, Melissa and Paul Steeg of Clinton; two brothers, Keegan Birt and Karson White both of Clinton; a sister, Kaylee White of Clinton; her grandparents, Ronald and Sandra Birt, Ada Steeg, Jeff White and Ann White all of Clinton; her great grandmother, Hazel Sturtz of Clinton; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was educated in the Fulton school district graduating from Fulton High School in 1970 were, he excelled on the football team. He received his B.A. Degree from the University of Dubuque in 1974 were he also played on the football team. After college Loren worked as a production manager for various companies in the Freeport and Rockford areas. Loren's joys in life were fishing, his golden retrievers, the Chicago Cubs, the Chicago Bears, his many trips to the Indy 500 races with his dear friends, a WWII book and WWII movie. It goes with-out saying that Loren's most precious gem in life was his daughter Amanda. Loren is survived by his parents, Russell and Darlene Sikkema of Fulton, IL; two brothers, Jon (Cecelia) Sikkema of Fulton, IL and Scott Sikkema of Chicago, IL; and four nieces and nephews, Justin, Jessica, Jerry, and Joce. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Amanda and his grandparents.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 PM on Saturday January 7, 2017 at the Pape Funeral Home. A gathering of family and friends will begin at 11:00 AM and continue until the service time. Corrinne Dautremont was born on September 3, 1927 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She was the daughter of Elberta and “Dutch” Dautremont and graduated from the Immaculate Conception School in Cedar Rapids. She was employed at Iowa Mutual Insurance Company in Cedar Rapids. She married Gerald Parker in Cedar Rapids on January 24, 1948 and moved to Clinton in 1950; Gerald died on April 3, 1997. She was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Clinton. Corrinne (“Corky”) loved humming birds, golf and bridge, but most of all she loved her family. Corky became a winter resident of Bradenton in 1993 but for many years she continued to spend her summers in Bellevue or Clinton. Corrinne is survived by four children, Janice (Louis), David (Deb), Jeffrey (Cindy), and Scott (Kelli); 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; her sister, Marilynn Alberhasky of Iowa City and by her dear friend, Jack Bradley of Bradenton. Dingmon on December 8, 1930. Vera and her husband operated grocery and meat markets in Charlotte, IA and Bettendorf, IA. After retirement they lived in Mt. Dora, FL for 25 years. Vera returned to Clinton in 2003. Vera belonged to several card clubs, playing 500 and Bridge. She always enjoyed reading and working crossword puzzles. Vera is survived by her son Terry (Florence) Dingmon of Clinton and her daughter Jeanine (Lee) McClure of Clinton; 11 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, her son Dennis Dingmon, her daughter Mary Jo Shoemaker, and grandchildren Deborah Lind and Kevin Shoemaker. She enjoyed playing cards, cooking & canning, fishing, and entertaining. Lucille and Alvin enjoyed traveling to Arizona to spend time with Dale and his family. She loved to vacation at their home on Lake Thunderhead in Unionville, MO. In 1977 she and Alvin built a home east of Goose Lake when they retired. The last four years she enjoyed living at Prairie Hills in Clinton. Lucille is survived by her three children, Phyllis (Dan) Driscoll of Charlotte, Donna Schoolman of Clinton, and Dale (Nancy) Schoolman of Glendale, AZ; four grandchildren, Brian (Heather), Brad, Mike, and Christina (Masa); two great grandchildren, Tevin and Morgan; 9 step grandchildren, 13 step great grandchildren, and a step great-great grandson; and a sister, Arlene (Ray) Rickertsen of Bettendorf . She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 9 brothers, and 2 sisters.

Thomsom, IL Vincent P. Franco age 93 of Thomson, IL passed away Monday, November 14, 2016 at Genesis East Hospital, Davenport. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at the Pape Funeral Home in Clinton. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until the services time Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will at a later date at the Rock Island National Cemetery. Vincent was born in Chicago on March 13, 1923, the son of Bruno and Carmella (Coda) Franco. He graduated from Lindbloom High School in Chicago. He attended Drake University, North Park College and Rockford College. He married Georgia H. Strand on December 21, 1946 in Chicago. Georgia passed away on September 1, 2011. Vincent was employed in Human Services. He and Georgia lived in Rockford for 12 years, Tallahassee, FL for 22 years, before moving to Thomson 9 years ago. Vincent was a World War II veteran. He entered active duty in the U.S. Army on October 12, 1942 at Fort Sheridan, Illinois and was reassigned to the U.S. Army Air Corps. He completed his training as Radio Operator Aerial Gunner (B17) and was then reassigned as Aviation Cadet (Bombardier). Vincent was honorably discharged on November 7, 1945 at Scott Field in Illinois. He was as member of the American Legion in Rockford and in Thomson. Vincent enjoyed playing baseball in his younger years and was an avid fencer as well as an instructor in the sport. Vincent is survived by a daughter, Nancy (John) Franco-Clasen of Thomson; a son, Vincent (Laura) Franco of Lake Worth, FL; four grandchildren, Nicholas Janssen, Taylor Franco, Steven Franco and Gregory Franco; a sister, Beatrice Lucio of Chicago and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Bruno and Sam and five sisters, Caroline, Jenny, Anna, Catherine and Marie. A memorial has been established. Burial will take place at Springdale Cemetery. James was born on May 26, 1923 in Des Moines, IA the son of James Alexander and Grace (Clegg) Bell. James graduated from the University of Iowa and was a member of Delta Pi Fraternity. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and retired from the Air Force Reserve as a Lt. Colonial after 31 years of active and reserve duty. James married Virginia (Carmody) in Los Angeles, CA. James was a member of three Masonic Lodges where he held various offices and was honored with The Hiram Award. He was employed in the air transportation field retiring from American Airlines in 1983. James is survived by a nephew Gordon (Alison) Bell of Waterloo, IA and a niece Kathy (AJ) Mohr of Clinton. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Virginia, and his brother Richard T. Bell.
