Adam J. Herrig - 4711/27/2015 - 11/12/2015
Adam J. Herrig, age 47 of Camanche, Iowa, passed away Thursday, November 12, 2015 at the University of Iowa Hospitals following an extended illness. In following Adam’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 noon on Monday, November 16, 2015 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Davenport. A gathering of family and friends will take place from 10:30 A.M. until the service time Monday at the church. The Pape Funeral Home, Clinton, is assisting the family.
Adam was born in Davenport on November 27, 1967, the son of Paul M. and Arlene (Mitchell) Herrig. He graduated from Davenport West High School and received his A.A. Degree from Hamilton Tech. Adam married Amy Fennelly on July 22, 1989 in Davenport. He later married Karen Burman on December 11, 2013 in Las Vegas. Adam was employed at ALCOA. He was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church. He loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards, golfing, and was an avid reader.
Adam is survived by his wife Karen; two sons, Lucas and Callahan Herrig both of Davenport; his parents, Paul and Arlene Herrig of Davenport; six brothers and sisters, Lisa (Richard) Cooksey of Bettendorf, Paul (Katy Morgan) Herrig of Davenport, Amy (Doug) Valentine of Cedar rapids, Laura (Robert) Shaw of Davenport, Pete (Lisa) Herrig of Davenport and Mike (Wendy) Herrig of Dubuque; two step-children, Krista (Brian) Deur of Holland, MI and Kari (Eric) Dyjak of Ankeny, IA; five step-grandchildren, Myleigh, Madelynn, Charlie, Avary and Austin; his father and mother-in-law, Charles and Helen Leavens of Clinton; two sisters-in-law, Charlotte (Dave) Daehler of Thomson, IL and Jan (Herb) Benshoof of Fishers, IN and many nieces and nephews. Donald E. Greenslade, age 82, of Clinton, passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at Eagle Point Nursing Home. Donald was born in Cresco, Iowa on March 15, 1933, the son of Elmer and Annette “Nettie” (Halverson) Greenslade. He graduated from Assumption High School in Cresco in 1952 and attended college in Chicago where he earned an AA Degree. Donald served with the U.S. Army for two years at the White Sands Proving Grounds. He had been employed as an engineer at International Paper and later at Custom Pak. He was a former member of Zion Lutheran Church. Donald designed and manufactured many packaging patents. He enjoyed visiting with his friends and family, working on his many projects, and living on the Mississippi River.
Donald is survived by children Kathleen (David) Lundberg of Bettendorf, Iowa and Mark Norman of Wesley Chapel, Florida; was preceded in death by two children, Stacy Hessong and Steve Norman; has six grandchildren, Matthew, Megan, Meara, Anna, Hunter and Janie; two great grandchildren, Tanner and Adelynn and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two children; four brothers, Paul, Richard, Elmer and Robert and two sisters, Mary and Viola. Memorials may be made to the Clinton Humane Society. Bill was born on Sept. 2, 1925 in Cherokee, OK, the son of William and Stella (Arnold) Kasterke. He was a veteran of the US Navy from 1943-1946. He married Laura Pence on Dec. 29, 1945 in Ft. Madison, IA. He worked for the Santa Fe Railroad in Ft. Madison, IA and for the Chicago Northwestern Railroad in Clinton, where he retired in 1986. Bill was a member of the Clinton AMVETS, Eagles Club, American Legion, Moose Lodge, and the N.A.R.V.E., Clinton County Historical Society. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, and woodworking.
Bill is survived by his wife, Laura of Clinton; a son, Byron (Judy) Kasterke of Clinton; daughter-in-law, Patricia Kasterke of Clinton; four grandchildren, Dale, Michelle, Zachary, and Kindsey; five great grandchildren, Andrew, Michael, Alex, Nolan, and Abbey; and two great-great grandchildren, Cadence and Eli. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Steven, and a brother.

Cora Lynn Rickertsen newborn infant daughter of Casie Hazlett and Jordan Rickertsen, Clinton, passed away Friday Nov. 6, 2015 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City. According to family wishes, there will be a private family gathering at the Pape Funeral Home in Clinton prior to cremation. Though she never spent any time with us, she touched many of our hearts, “dearest baby Cora please know that our greatest blessing was having you." God has gained another precious angel.
Survivors include her parents Casie Hazlett and Jordan Rickertsen of Clinton; grandparents, Christina Orban of Clinton, Robert and Cindy Rickertsen of Fulton IL; great grandparents, Betty Sear and Erna Rickertsen both of Clinton; and many aunts and uncles, which include Christie Orban and Chase Hazlett in the Hazlett family and nine other aunts and uncles in the Rickertsen family.

Susan was born on March 20, 1950 in Wakefield, NE, the daughter of Charles and Charlotte (Heath) Pope. She married Ellas Ray on Aug. 26, 1967 in Camanche. She worked at Collis Company in the powder coating department. She enjoyed playing Bingo, going for walks, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan.

Priscilla was born on Sept. 9, 1941 in Clinton, IA, the daughter of LeRoy and Lucile (Clark) Ullrich. She married Robert Hook on June 26, 1969 in Clinton, he died in 1982. She worked as a assembly line worker at General Electric in Morrison, IL for over 28 years. She loved to read and try new recipes, which she shared with her family and friends.

Velma was born on Nov. 7, 1919 in Lyons, IA, the daughter of Henry and Josephine (Klaes) Andresen. She attended and graduated from Welton Community Schools and attended UCLA. She married Leroy Voss on Oct. 19, 1946 in Cedar Rapids, IA; he died in 1979. She worked for Pacific Telesis and AT&T for over 31 years, where she retired as a supervisor. She was a member of the Rebecca Lodge, Clinton Women’s Club, Mercy Auxiliary, AMVETS Auxiliary, Odd Fellows, VFW Auxiliary, and the Communications Workers of America, where she was president of the local union. She enjoyed traveling; especially going to Europe and the Orient, and was a collector of oriental artifacts, and playing cards.
Velma is survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and her step brothers and sisters.

Gayla was born on April 18, 1938 in Clinton, the daughter of Harry and Helen (Buckley) Spooner. She graduated from Clinton High School in 1956. She married Frank Rixen on August 18, 1956 in Clinton; he died April 28, 1996. She worked at the Eagle Point Lodge for many years. She was a member of the former Odeon Club. She was an active member of her class reunion committee. She enjoyed fishing and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and her dog.
Gayla is survived by her four children, Kim Rixen (Scott Bratthauer) of Bryant, IA, Chris (Christy) Rixen of Clinton, Joe Rixen of Clinton and Dave Rixen of Andover; 6 grandchildren, Will, Joey (Amanda), Zach (Tiffany), R.J., Madalyn and Megan; 4 great grandchildren, Piper, Dylan, Dallas and Destiny; a brother, David (Micky) Spooner of Clinton and a sister, Marcia Lass of Clinton. Lualis was born in Conroy, Iowa on June 7, 1922, the daughter of Arthur W. and Adele “Della”(Roerig) Wiebold. She graduated from Mt. St. Clare Academy. Lualis married Richard J. Foster on September 4, 1948 in Clinton. Richard passed away on October 4, 1992. Lualis was a service observer with Northwestern Bell for 38 years. Following her retirement, she worked as a receptionist for Dr. Joseph Monahan at Medical Associates until 1989. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Chapel in Rock Falls, IL and a active member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and an avid bridge player.
Lualis is survived by a sister, Barbara Davis of Clinton; a brother, Harold (Sharleen) Wiebold of Seal Beach, CA; a sister in law, Doris Wiebold of Des Moines, IA; a nephew Greg (Barb) Foster of Camanche and several nieces and nephews. Thomas was born on Jan. 22, 1943 in Clinton, the son of Arthur and Jessie (Brown) Ramig. He graduated from Clinton High School . He served in the US Army from 1963-1968. He married Diane Zaehringer on May 25, 1973 in Clinton; she died in 1999. Thomas worked for the Clinton Community School District in the maintenance department for over 30 years. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and the former Odeon Club. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, camping, and the outdoors. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and Kansas City Chiefs fan.
Thomas is survived by his two daughters, Wannette (Ron) Moore of Erie, IL and Kelly (Bruce Frye) Rogers of Minneapolis, MN; a son, Rick Ramig of Florida; 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; and a sister, Bonnie (Rich) Tervelt of North Carolina He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, and two sisters.
