Eugene J. “Bub” Wolf age 89 of Clinton, passed away Monday May 11, 2015 at Mercy Living Center South. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday May 14th at the Pape Funeral Home. Eugene was born on Nov. 17, 1925 in Ocala, FL, the son of Edgar and Lynda (Reich) Wolf. He graduated from Lyons High School in 1944 and later from the University of Iowa in 1948. He married Dolores Dawes on Sept. 27, 1958 in Clinton. He worked as a cameraman for Pinney Printing Company from 1954-1994. He was a life member of the Moose Lodge; he was a 32nd Degree Mason and member of the Emulation Lodge #255. He enjoyed boating, going to the cabin, and loved animals.
Eugene is survived by his wife, Dolores Wolf of Clinton and several nieces and nephews including, Marianne Hannon, Susan (Martin) Curley, and Thomas (Stephanie) Hannon. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, and a sister.

Loretta D. Pieper age 97 of Clinton, passed away Saturday May 9, 2015 at Mercy Living Center North. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Tuesday may 12th at the Pape Funeral Home. Loretta was born on Sept. 1, 1917 in Clinton, the daughter of John and Elsie (Carstensen) Johnson. She graduated from Clinton High School in 1936. She married Courtland Pieper, Sr. on Dec. 17, 1939 in Davenport; he died in 1986. She was a homemaker and a former member of the St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church, Clinton. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star #65, White Shrine, and had received the Grand Cross of the Colors of Rainbow. She enjoyed baking and playing Bingo, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Loretta is survived by her three children, Courtland (Darlene) Pieper, Jr. of Port Byron, IL, Robert (Bonnie) Pieper of Preston, IA, and Sharon (Lou) Jackson-Spinka of Clinton; 5 grandchildren, Maria, Jay, Amy, Troy, and B.J. and 3 great grandchildren. John was born on April 27, 1966 in Clinton, the son of Clyde and Irene “Pat” (Hinz) Howes. He was a member of the former St. Irenaeus Church. John was a very caring person. He enjoyed playing cards and would give the shirt off his back if it would help others. He loved being in the outdoors.
John is survived by his fiancée, Lori Winkler of Clinton; two daughters, Serenity Howes of Clinton and Cassandra “Cassy” Clark and her mother, Shelly Hernandez Clark both of Clinton; three sisters, Anna (Keith) Doucette, Julie Anderson, and Christy Ketelsen all of Clinton; 4 grandchildren; a niece, Chevelle (Eric) Sopkin and their son, Isaac of Portland, OR; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Carol was born on Nov. 1, 1940 in Sioux City, IA, the daughter of Albert and Adeline (Thiessen) Blount. She graduated from Clinton High School in 1958. She married Ronald Lampe on Nov. 17, 1959 in Dover, DE, where Ronald was stationed in the Air Force. Carol worked as a realtor for Mel Foster in Davenport and for over 20 years in admissions for Genesis West Medical Center. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren. She was a former member of the Moose Lodge in Clinton.
Carol is survived by her husband, Ronald Lampe of Clinton; her five children, Robert Lampe of Marion, IA, Deana (Robert) Fuller of Clinton, Sandra (Mike) Alvarez of Pflugerville, TX, Steve (Suzie) Lampe of Coralville, IA, and Brenda Lampe of Clinton; 13 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, 5 brothers, and a sister.

Edward Karr age 87 of Clinton, passed away on Thursday April 30th, 2015 at Mercy Medical Center North in Clinton. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday May 5, 2015 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Pape Funeral Home. According to his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.
Edward Eliga Karr was born September 24, 1927 in Crookston, MN, the son of E.E. and Helen (Bland) Karr. Edward married Linda Becker on June 14, 1990 in Clinton. In his younger years, Edward was a Merchant Marine. He worked as a troubleshooter on Texaco oil rigs and later became a journeyman electrician with IBEW #145. Edward did volunteer electrical work at the Clinton Discovery Center and the Symphony of Lights. He was a member of the Eagles Club, CERT and Alumni of the Citizens Police Academy. Edward enjoyed cooking for local fireman and taking care of his three Yorkies.
Edward is survived by his wife Linda, three children; Jodi (Ken) Housenga of Fulton, IL, Vicki (John) Gruhn of Sabula, IA and Richard (Ann) Mojeiko of Clinton, 8 grandchildren and a brother William Karr of Clarksville, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and one brother.

Lee was born in Moline, IL on July 14, 1952, the son of Lee Sr. and Viola (Warfield) Sweely. He married Jody Webb on May 2, 1980 in Clinton. Lee worked as a lab tech at ADM for 32 years before retiring in 2010. He enjoyed spending time with his family, gardening, fishing, hunting and wood working.
Lee is survived by his wife Jody, three children; Corey (Jennifer) Sweely of Camanche, Lindsay Alexander of Jefferson, WI and Jeremy (Leah) Sweely of Clinton, 12 grandchildren; Mitchell, Ashlee, Damian, Kaitlyn, Alexis, Elyssa, Jonah, Jaycee, Clayton, Carson, Brianna and Barin, three sisters; Bonnie Casey of Fulton, Shirley King of Wells, NV and Becky (Jerry) Barton of Davenport, many nieces and nephews and a great-great nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Christopher in 2012 and a brother Robert.

Margaret was born on Feb. 28, 1928 in Clinton, the daughter of Robert and Ruth (Ewing) Oliver. She graduated from Clinton High School in 1946. She married Warren Young on Feb. 14, 1948 in Clinton. Margaret was a homemaker and a member of the Lyons United Methodist Church. She delivered Clinton Mobile Meals for over 30 years. She enjoyed camping and spending time with her family.
Margaret is survived by her husband, Warren Young of Clinton; two daughters, Karen Young of Waterloo, IA and Susan (Mike) Robinson of Andalusia, IL; her son, David (Carol) Young of Santa Fe, NM; 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; her brother, Edward Oliver of Zephyr Hills, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Douglas in 2007, her great grandson, Oliver Palmer, a brother, and five sisters.

David was born on May 4, 1939 in Clinton, the son of William and Phyllis (Holstein) Soibel. He graduated from Clinton High School in 1957. He married Mary Harlock on Oct. 15, 1959 in Clinton. He was owner/operator of the Video Club in Camanche. David is survived by his wife, Mary of Clinton; four children, Kevin Soibel and David Soibel, Jr. both of Clinton, Gary (Linda) Soibel of Duluth, GA, and Phyllis (John) Nelson of Clive, IA; 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; and two brothers, Dennis and Maynard.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at St. John Lutheran Church Clinton. Visitation will be from 10:30 A.M. until the service time Wednesday at the church. Ruth was born in Chicago on December 9, 1921, the daughter of Frederick and Alma (Borck) Wickboldt. She married Richard A. Hesemann on September 6, 1947 in Chicago. Richard passed away in 2005. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church. Ruth had been a homemaker and was very active in volunteering for the church, school, hospital and for the LWML. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards and following the Cubs.
Ruth is survived by two children; Joyce (David) Martinez of Clinton and Richard F. (Colleen) Hesemann of Seneca, SC; five grandchildren, Vicki (Drew) Haussmann, Brian (Stacy) Martinez, Amy (Adam) King, Deborah Martinez and Nathan Hesemann and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband and two brothers, William and Walter Wickboldt. In lieu of flowers the family respectfully suggest memorials be made in Ruth’s name to Bethesda or St. John Preschool.

Georgia was born in Muscatine, Iowa on August 6, 1953, the daughter of Roseward “Bud” and Betty (Huber) Miller. She graduated from North Scott High School in 1971. Georgia married Charles Dale Zogg on May 15, 1996 in Bettendorf. She had been a Head Start Pre-school teacher in Davenport. A stay at home mom day care provider for her nieces and nephews, had worked at Value RX in Davenport, Casey’s in Princeton, Iowa and the last 12 years baby sat her two grandsons whom she loved dearly. Georgia had a love of kids, family and cats. She enjoyed sewing, flowers and crafts.
Georgia is survived by her husband, Dale of Princeton, Iowa; her daughter, Shamera (Gary Heginger) Barber of Princeton, Iowa; a step-daughter, Bev Cather of Reno, NV; seven grandchildren, Andrew and Aiden Barber, Kyle and Ethan Heginger; Destiny Cather and Nick and Nate Cather; three sisters, Donna (Mike) Simkins of New Boston, IL, Judy Hansen of Long Grove and Brenda (Paul) Baertlein of Silvis; a brother, Jim Miller of Princeton, Iowa; a favorite aunt, Shirley (Bob) Poole of Sanford, NC, many nieces and nephews and her cat children, Buffy and Sissy. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son; a sister, Rosalie; many more family and friends and cat children.
