Carol J. Jewell age 57 of Clinton, passed away Sunday May 13, 2018 at Mercy Medical Center North. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, May 19th at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Visitation will be held Friday 4-8 PM at the Pape Funeral Home and from 12:00 noon until the service time Saturday at the church. Burial will be at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Jimmy Paysen, Cooper Jacks, Tanner Bollon, Dana Jewell, Aaron Jewell, and Jacob Nelson. Carol was born on Oct. 5, 1960 in Clinton, the daughter of Raymond and Marilyn (Long) Jacks. She graduated from Camanche High School in 1979, where she was a bass drummer for the high school marching band. She married Jody Jewell on May 7, 1988 in Camanche. While in high school Carol worked at Koop’s Market. Following her graduation she worked in customer service at K-mart for over 20 years, Lyons Middle School and was presently employed at Hy Vee. She previously belonged to the former Lutheran Church of Atonement and New Hope Lutheran Church and is a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. Carol enjoyed crocheting, ceramics, cross stitching and making fleece blankets. She loved spending time with her family, following all their activities, going to plays, bowling with her husband, sitting around the fire pit, taking walks with her dog Domino and was an active member of Eve Circle. She taught Sunday school and attended Bible study. Carol was an avid Green Bay Packer fan. She enjoyed going to Lumberking and Mallard games and following the Cubs. Carol was a selfless person who put others’ needs ahead of her own, dedicating herself to supporting and loving all those around her. Carol is survived by her husband, Jody; a daughter, Kaitlin (Tanner Bollon) Jewell of Clinton; a sister, Debra (Jim) Weston of Eldridge; a brother, Ronald (Rose) Jacks of Waverly, IA and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
