Glenn E. Jones, Jr. - 60

10/24/1955 - 7/23/2016

Clinton, Iowa

Glenn E. Jones, Jr., age 60 passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 23rd, 2016, in an accident at his place of employment. A visitation will take place at Pape Funeral Home on Thursday, July 28th from 11AM until 2PM. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Following the service, cremation rites will be accorded. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com. Glenn was born October 25th, 1955 in Morrison, Illinois to Glenn and Naomi (Sikkema) Jones; Sr. He graduated from Morrison High School in 1974, and began working at ADM in 1980. Glenn was married to Tracy Johns on May 23, 2006 in Clinton. Glenn loved to go camping with his wife and friends, and spent most of his free time "working" around the house or yard, though he often made more trouble than he did good. Glenn loved to watch a good Bears game, and took their winnings (and losings) VERY seriously. Glenn also liked to "watch" NASCAR races. He would turn the race on and start doing tasks in the house or yard, but heaven forbid someone change the channel. Glenn liked to grill out, have bonfires, and enjoyed having a few Coors or Busch Lights. Glenn was a dedicated and hard-working employee of ADM for over 36 years, spending the last 15 on the switch crew. Glenn is sadly missed by his wife Tracy, his children, Geneva Jones, Josh (Jeni) Jones, Jeremy (Manoy) Jones; step-children, Amber Trude, Amanda Trude, Anna Trude, Abby Paysen, and Dustin Paysen; his 7 grandchildren, Creed, Cheyenne, Damon, Darien, Payton, Braedyn and Gideon; his 4 siblings, Mert, Mike, Roxanne, and Sam; and many close friends and relatives. Glenn is preceded in death by his parents, 2 of his siblings, Larry Sperry and Kristin Phillips, and a granddaughter, Trudy. Glenn was often quiet, but was known to tell a few stories when he was in a good mood. Family and friends will remember Glenn as being reliable, and always willing to jump in and help when he was needed. Glenn took great pride in his children and grand-children, and always wanted the best for them, and did everything he could to be a good father, husband, and provider.
