Carole was born in the doctor’s car on the way to the hospital in Clinton on July 2, 1936, the youngest child of George and Clara (Stenzel) Schroeder. She graduated from Clinton High School and attended Mt. St. Clare College. She married Robert “Bob” Lueders on June 17, 1956 in Clinton. Bob passed away on October 13, 1996. Carole retired from Clinton Community Schools. Carole was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. Carole’s greatest joy was her family. Her life revolved around them. She loved following her children and grandchildren’s school and sporting activities of which there were many over the years. Carole had a sassy sense of humor that was evident to everyone who knew her. She enjoyed going to the YWCA, lunching with the Lyons group and her close friends Shirley, Randa, and Judy. She could often be seen driving her Mustang convertible around town. She never missed Dancing with the Stars and The Bachelor/ette and the Cubs. She and her husband Bob loved to dance and could clear the dance floor. She devotedly served as the team mom for Bob’s Clinton High School wrestling team, helping behind the scenes in whatever role necessary for forty years. Carole is survived by five children; Jeffrey (Melody) Lueders of Evergreen, CO, Kristine (Robert) Schneeberger of Clinton, Kelley (Jim) Hummel of Long Grove, IA, J.D. (Kim) Lueders of Clinton and Kasey (Eric) Jennings of Clinton; 14 grandchildren, Lars (McKenzie), Chelsey (Brandon), Kellen, Marcus (Nicole), Dylan (Maddy), Karly, Savanah, Eric (Amy), Jared, Cole (Jackie), Spencer (Bri), Luke, Brady and Piper; 9 great-grandchildren, London, Tripp, Miles, Holden, Caitlin, Megan, Owen, Quincey, and Alivia; a brother, Rodney (Chick) Schroeder of Sarasota, FL and a sister-in-law, Phyllis (Randy) Meinert of Davenport. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a grandson, Trey; four brothers, Clifford, Wesley, Gordon and Orlin, and a sister, Arlene. The family would like to especially thank Dr. Aggarwal and Corrina, Heather, Becky, Jamie, Cheryl and Sherrie from the Chemo Lab at Medical Associates and her favorite pharmacist Steve for all their kindness and care.
