Kenneth H. Rickertsen age 68 of Clinton, passed away Wednesday Feb. 6, 2019 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday Feb.11th at Ascension Lutheran Church in Goose Lake. Visitation will be held Sunday 2:00 – 5:00 PM at the Pape Funeral Home, Clinton. Burial will be at Center Grove Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Glen Gradert, Scott Nissen, David and Gary Schroeder, Jason Rickertsen, and Keith Zaehringer. Kenneth was born on Feb. 20, 1950 in Clinton, the son of Arlo and Lois (Peters) Rickertsen. He graduated from Northeast High School in 1968. Kenneth married Joyce Schroeder on June 5, 1971 in Charlotte. He served in the US National Guard from 1968-1973. Kenneth retired from Eastern Iowa Propane and previously farmed and drove bus for Northeast Community School District. He was a member of the Ascension Lutheran Church and the Lions Club both in Goose Lake. He enjoyed going to flea markets and toy auctions. He loved his family and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Kenneth is survived by his wife, Joyce Rickertsen of Clinton; two sons, Brian (Lisa) Rickertsen of Calamus and Neal Rickertsen of Goose Lake; three grandchildren, Aleisha (Matt) Haag and Austin and Alex Rickertsen; and by loving in-laws, nieces, nephews, and step-sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Gerald, Carlyle, and Wayne.
